The Clinical Nurse Leader Association (CNLA) has been created from an identified need to provide a national forum for Clinical Nurse Leaders (CNL) to support, collaborate and celebrate our unique and evolving role in all practice settings. Through the CNLA we will provide an opportunity to highlight the impact of the CNL on quality, safety, patient satisfaction and cost reduction. Decreasing the length of stay through lateral integration, meeting or exceeding reportable standards of practice and reducing non-refundable hospital acquired events are examples of how a CNL can add value to cost containment efforts and improved patient outcomes. Together, with a collective voice, we can establish the CNL with in the microsystem as the solution of choice to ultimately link evidence based practice to the point of care.
Our Mission:The mission of the Clinical Nurse Leader Association is to provide a forum for members in all practice settings to collaborate, collect data, publish results, network, promote high standards of practice, maintain a professional presence and stay abreast of issues affecting their practice.
Our Vision:The vision of the Clinical Nurse Leader Association is to improve patient outcomes through a focus on safety and quality outcomes and the implementation of evidence based practice at the point of care.
What an exciting time to be a growing organization and role, with healthcare on the verge of increasing accountability and wanting only the best of results. It is an honor to be residing as President of the CNLA and assisting our members to reach and grow within the Clinical Nurse Leader role. A new role in Nursing is not for the faint of heart- we are pioneers and we do make a difference!
Our goal for the remainder of 2011 is to grow not only membership, but activity within our web based organization. We want to see you attain membership in your national organization and use the forums to collaborate on current issues, ask questions, and network with fellow CNLs across the country. Submit patient stories, quality projects, research, etc. to be hosted on the CNLA website.
Our CNL role was developed to promote the highest standards of practice and use the latest evidenced based practice, through partnering with a multidisciplinary approach. As we lead, and because we are a "New" role, we must announce/publish what we do as CNLs and LEAD our future in Nursing history.
